For the week of October 7th

Close contact with our growers about current weather and growing conditions allows us to give weekly updates to keep you informed. We offer current quality and market updates for each category of produce all in one place.

Here are some products with great quality and prices this week.

Apples:
The new Washington crop is still going strong with most varieties. Locally we are shipping Cortland, McIntosh, Sweetango, Haralson and Honeycrisp varieties this week. We are also now shipping new Braeburns crop from Washington.

Peppers:
We are still bringing in Green Peppers from our local growers and quality has been good, but they will be finishing up in the next week. Then, we will move to the southeast. Prices are steady and Red and Yellow peppers are steady with good quality.

Local Product Availability: Apples, Carrots, Hydro Bibb Lettuce, Green Peppers, Bushel Boy Tomatoes, Radishes, Red Potatoes, Kale, Lacinato Kale, Medium Carton Red and Green Cabbage, Acorn, Butternut, Buttercup,
Orange Buttercup and Spaghetti Squash.

Here are some products to buy with caution this week.

Squash:
Supplies remain tight for now coming in from Georgia, and there are light supplies starting to come in from Mexico. Prices are high, but are expected to come down soon.

Cantaloupe:
California growers are seeing less fruit as we finish up out of the Westside growing region. We can expect to see limited supplies and higher markets until the desert region starts up in mid October. As we transition from
California to Arizona we may see some supply and quality issues.

Green Beans:
Supplies are coming in from Georgia now, and quality looks ok.
Prices are high, and expected to stay on the higher side for a few weeks.

Blackberries:
Supplies have become very limited, as the domestic supplies are winding down quickly. Mexican product has started with light supplies but they
are expected to increase over the next few weeks. Prices are steady for now.
